AMX Recalls Rechargeable Batteries Used with Touch Panels for Audio/Visual Systems Recalled Due to Fire and Burn Hazards



AMX has recalled the AMX 5000 series Rechargeable Batteries with wireless touch panels (MVP-5100, MVP-5150, MVP-5200i), because of a defect in the battery pack that causes it to overheat and rupture posing a risk of fire and/or burns to the consumer. The model number can be found on a label on the back of the unit. These touch panels can be used as remote controls for residential or commercial audio/visual systems. AMX 5000 series touch panels are available in black or white and include a 5.2” wide screen color LCD display. The touch panel’s dimensions are 4 3/4” x 7 9/16” x 13/16”. Consumers should immediately discontinue use of the touch panels and contact AMX for instructions on how to receive a replacement battery at no cost by calling AMX at 800.222.0193 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, visit the firm’s website at www.amx.com or via email at service@amx.com and reference “XPX5000B.”
