2006/2007 Honda Ridgeline Vehicles Recalled due to Defective Electrical Installation and Fire Hazard

Honda has announced that it is recalling certain 2006-2007 Ridgeline Vehicles manufactured between January 17, 2005 and June 7, 2006, because a wiring harness connector for heating, ventilation and HVAC (air conditioning) blow motor (located under the passenger's side of the instrument panel) and may be accessible to kicking by the front passenger's feet causing the terminal to overheat resulting in the wire installation or wiring connector to melt. This poses a risk that the apparatus may short circuit causing a fire to occur. Consumers are encouraged to have a dealer inspect the vehicle and if the wire connector is damaged to have it replaced; a protective cover will also be installed free of charge. Owners may call Honda at 800.999.1009 for more information.
