Students Campaign for the Adoption Senate Bill 1352 for a Prohibition of Texting While Driving

Texting while driving is reported to be 30 times more dangerous than driving while under the influence of alcohol. Students of Meridian High School have been campaigning for Senate Bill 1352 which, if enacted, would prohibit and make it illegal to operate a motor vehicle while texting. Texting is one of the most dangerous things a driver can do while operating a motor vehicle, because of the obvious - the distraction results in the driver taking his or her eyes off the road which can have catastrophic results.

Again, I ask those of you who live in Idaho to contact your legislator and ask them to support Senate Bill 1352. The full text of Senate Bill 1352 may be found at http://www.legislature.idaho.gov/legislation/2010/S1352.pdf

To locate your legislature you may go to http://www.legislature.idaho.gov/howtocontactlegislators.htm.

To determine what legislative district you reside in, go to http://legislature.idaho.gov/about/07districtmap.pdf or call your local County Clerk.
