Homelite Recalls Backpack Blowers Due to Fire Hazard



Homelite Consumer Products, Inc. has recalled approximately 85,000 Mighty Lite backpack blowers, because the fuel take may leak gasoline resulting in a fire hazard to consumers.

This recall involves the Homelite Mighty Lite backpack blowers. The blowers are red and black. For more information regarding the product models involved in this recall see http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10037.html

The product in question was sold at the following at Home Depot stores and various retailers of refurbished products including Direct Tools Factory Outlets, CPO Homelite, Gardner, Tap Enterprises, Isla Supply and Heartland America stores nationwide from September 2007 through October 2009 for between $90 and $140. Consumers should call Homelite Comsumer Products at 800.242.4672 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to obtain information on how to obtain a free fuel tank replacement or go to the firm's website at www.homelite.com. Consumers should immediately discontinue use of the recalled product.
